Long time no blog...

OK, I haven't blogged in forever, but I just read Wendy's blog, and felt inspired - she tends to do that to me! :) I guess you can't even really call this a blog since I hardly ever write here. But, I need to. I said I was going to do this to help me remember all the little things in life. They are so important, and I know I've already forgotten so many of the first years of my children's lives. But, getting behind is something that, unfortunately, I'm very good at! So, here are a few short memories that come to mind:
  • Joshua running into the kitchen behind Zoe yelling "I DID NOT DO IT, and I did not MEAN to do it!"
  • Reagan explaining the "high points" of Ozzy Osbourne's career to Joshua including that he "basically has no morals." Thank you Michael for the wonderful educational conversations you have with our sons on the way home from basketball practice.
  • Zoe apologizing for something she had gotten in trouble for earlier in the day -"I'm sorry I did that, Momma." Delayed repentance is often the most meaningful. A quick I'm sorry is fine. But, when they think about it and later on say "I'm sorry" again, it gives you hope that the correction got to the heart.
  • Repeated "Good night, I love you's" from my children. Yeah, maybe they are procrastinating about going to bed, but each kiss is a blessing.
  • A wonderful good morning hug from Joshua or Zoe. These two always come give me a sweet sleepy hug when they wake up in the morning. I'm waiting for one now - letting them sleep in a bit while I do this post.
  • "I like math. It's pretty fun!" - Joshua - gotta love my little math geek!
  • Reagan volunteering to help with the dishes or asking, "Is there anything I can do to help?" What a wonderful thing to have children that want to help. Remind me of that when they don't somedays!
Well, I'm sure I've barely scratched the surface. I'll try to come back more often. This has given me a wonderful start to the day. A way to remind myself to be more thankful - a good theme for the week, huh?

Please consider Psalm 107 this week as you are focusing on being more thankful this week as well. Have a blessed week. Mine already has been! :)
